You want your children’s feet to be warm and dry when playing out and about in the snow. So, here is the guide to high quality yet cheap kids snow boots in the U.S.
Carter's
You can find stylish children's snow boots at Carter's that won't break the bank. These winter boots are often on sale, and the sale prices are surprisingly low – similar to or even cheaper than you can find elsewhere. The only catch is that Carter's only stocks footwear sizes up to a youth 3, so if your child needs a larger size you’ll need to look at one of the other options below.
You can take a look at their winter boots here.
Columbia Sportswear
Columbia Sportswear is a reliable outdoor brand which stocks snow boots for boys, girls, men and women. It's worth taking a look because their children's winter boots can be surprisingly cheap in the off-season. They are well-known as an outdoor gear company, making products which hold up well to the elements. If you're looking purely at quality, then these are hands-down the best snow boots for kids. However, at full price Columbia can be expensive.
If you live in an area that gets quite a bit of snow or is particularly cold, you likely want to shop from Columbia because of the top quality. By contrast, if you live in an area where snow is less common in the winter, I'd recommend saving money and going with something cheaper, so long as it still keeps your child's feet warm and dry.
You can find the children's footwear section at Columbia here.
Amazon
You can find an incredible array of snow boots for kids at Amazon.com from a bunch of different brands. It’s the place to go for the best range of styles and sizes. If you get in early you can get some good deals.
Also, people often leave detailed reviews so you can get a better sense of the pros and cons of each style.
The Children’s Place
This one is last on my list for a reason: the snow boots from The Children's Place can be a little hit-or-miss. One year I bought two pairs of snow boots from there, one for each child, and one pair worked perfectly but I had to throw out the other pair as they leaked – a big safety issue when dealing with snow. Hopefully that was just a random issue with occasional items in that year’s line and not an ongoing thing. The prices are really low, but I’d hesitate to shop there again for kids winter boots based on my past experience. Still, they do stock snow boots at a low price point and I’m hoping they have improved the quality by now.
For regular items of clothing, Children’s Place has superb quality. But I’d recommend the other stores listed above more than The Children’s Place when it comes to children's snow boots.
Conclusion
You have several options when it comes to snow boots for toddlers or kids. My top recommendations are: Carter's, Columbia Sportswear, and Amazon.com.
